Our Route

Rest day before we begin!

Gary got up early this morning to watch other people walk out of St Jean. I stayed in bed trying to sleep after being kept awake last night by the strange blue night lighting in our room! Honestly it was like having a spot light shining in my face! We are so spoilt by the complete darkness at home.
Anyway we had a leisurely day exploring St Jean and finding a few geocaches. We tried some Basque food and tried to find some of the places from the film 'The Way'.
We also went to the Pilgrim's office to get our passports or credentials . These need to be stamped each evening to prove we have really done the walk.
Our scallop shell and Camino Passport.

Is this our route tomorrow?

St Jean from the citadel

Gary says 'A  woman with a nice ass'!

Enjoying the sun and a chance to read up on tomorrow's walk.
The man and donkey are also walking the Camino - what a great idea! I may have to kidnap him (the donkey) he was lovely and soft with beautiful sad eyes!

  1. Great pictures. Great post. Keep us informed.

Daya and I had Max and your house sitters to dinner last night. Daya thought they were feeling lonely so invited them to dinner.

I hope you two are enjoying yourselves. The place looks gorgeous. I imagine the food is as well. Good luck. Keep posting.
