Day Eighteen - Carrion de los Condes to Moratinos - 30km

The second part of today was meant to be along by the main road but luckily we discovered an alternate route which took us along paths surrounded by wild flowers. The air was full of their scent and at one time we spotted a small fox running along in front of us. Surrounded by such beauty made the time pass quickly.
The village of Moratinos is tiny, we went to explore it and 5 minutes later we had finished! We didn't see anyone other than other walkers - I wonder what everyone does?

A map showing how we can choose our route today.
Walk by the road or walk across country?

The trees in this wood were all dead but
wild roses had grown up in between them.

Wild roses, honeysuckle and lavender scented the air.

The bar at the albergue in Caldadilla de la Cueza
had all the modern gadgets!
We saw several of these round buildings in the middle of fields.

Albergue in Terradillos de Templarios for lunch.
Tortilla of course!
This house was so different from the ones we usually see.

A random stone spiral by an old medieval water pump.

Home for tonight - the place on the left not the
little tiny Teletubby houses on the right!

Lots of the local houses have been coated in a layer of cob
- mud, straw and tiny stones
Another hectic day in Moratinos!
A bustling cafe built into the hill.
